It is imperative to dilute the cider with water. If it is not mixed with water, the strong acid can erode our tooth enamel. It can also irritate the throat, esophagus, and stomach.

Apple cider vinegar might cause an interaction with diabetes and heart disease medication, laxatives, and diuretics.

It is important to only take the amount required due to side effects it might cause. Too much apple cider vinegar can lead to low potassium and bone loss.

Just like too much apple cider vinegar can be bad, there are also other foods that can affect your diet negatively. 

Apple Cider Vinegar Diet

The apple cider vinegar diet is easy to do. Only a small amount of the cider is needed due to its potency. Apple cider vinegar used for weight loss is 1 to 2 tablespoons or 15-30 ml per day, mixed with water. It should be spread out into 2 to 3 doses before meals.

Apple cider vinegar can be used to make salad dressing.


  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
